How to Play Noillirk

Here is how to play Noillirk in one line: read a prompt, type the answer you think most people would give, and climb higher the more popular it is. There are seven prompts a day and 15 seconds for each. This guide walks through the rules, a full example board and the tiers, so you are ready for the daily climb.

How to play Noillirk: the rules

  1. Press Start. The first prompt appears with a 15-second timer.
  2. Type one answer and press Enter, or let the timer lock in what you typed.
  3. The board shows the eight most common answers and where yours landed.
  4. Your points lift the balloon. After seven prompts you see your final altitude and can share it.

Everyone gets the same seven prompts on the same day, and a new set starts at 00:00 UTC. Want more after that? Unlimited mode keeps going until you lose three balloons.

An example board

Take the prompt "Name something people lose all the time". Its board looks like this:

AnswerSharePlacePoints
keys26%#1100
phone18%#264
wallet13%#332
remote10%#432
glasses8%#516
socks6%#616
umbrella4%#78
pen3%#88

Answer "keys" and you get the full 100. "Gloves" is a fair answer that did not make the board, so it scores 4. "Dignity" might be funny, but it is not an answer we know, so it scores 0. The shares are our editors' estimates of how often people give each answer, not a live survey.

Altitude tiers

Each answer earns a tier, and the tier emoji goes into your share grid:

Every point is 20 metres of altitude, so seven top answers take you to 14 km. The scoring guide explains which board places give which tier and what a strong daily score looks like.

How answers are matched

The game reads your answer the way a friendly host would. It ignores capitals and punctuation, drops a leading "a", "the" or "my", treats plurals as singular, and accepts a one-letter typo in a word of five or more letters. Common alternatives also count: "brush my teeth" matches brush teeth. If you think a fair answer was rejected, tell us via corrections.

Getting better at Noillirk

Most players lose points by answering what they would say instead of what most people would say. Our tips for guessing the most common answer cover the habits that fix that. And if you have played Krillion, note that it rewards the opposite instinct; Krillion vs Noillirk compares the two.

How to play Noillirk FAQ

Do I have to spell answers exactly?

No. Capitals, a leading "a" or "the", plurals and a one-letter typo in a longer word are all forgiven. A completely different word still has to match an answer we know.

What happens when the timer runs out?

Whatever you have typed is locked in. If the box is empty, the round scores 0 and the game moves on.

Can I play yesterday's prompts?

Not as a daily climb. Every prompt comes back in unlimited mode, which shuffles the whole deck.

Does it matter how fast I answer?

No. Speed earns nothing extra; the timer only stops you from overthinking. Use the 15 seconds to find the plainest answer.
