Noillirk Tips
These Noillirk tips come from one idea: you are not trying to be right, you are trying to be typical. The answer that scores 100 is the one most people blurt out first. Seven habits below help you find it inside 15 seconds, on the daily climb or a long unlimited run.
Noillirk tips for the most common answer
- Go with your first thought. The first answer that pops into your head is usually the first answer for most people too. Second-guessing tends to drift toward the clever end of the board.
- Picture a typical home. For "name something in a kitchen drawer", think of an ordinary drawer, not your own: forks and spoons, not a garlic press.
- Use the plainest word. Say "car", not "sedan"; "dog", not "golden retriever". Boards group answers under the everyday name.
- Think of the classic example. "Name a red fruit" is apple before strawberry. Picture-book examples win.
- Read every word of the prompt. "Something people do first thing in the morning" points to the bathroom, not breakfast.
- Avoid jokes. A funny answer is rarely on the board and scores 0. Save it for the share text.
- When stuck, pick anything sensible. A fair answer off the board still earns 4 points, and an empty box earns nothing.
Patterns the boards follow
After a few climbs you start to see how boards are built. Body and household prompts are led by the most physical answer. Food prompts are led by what is cheap and eaten often. Animal prompts are led by pets and farm animals before anything exotic. Place prompts favour the biggest, best-known name. The example board on the rules page shows this in action: keys beat phone, and both beat umbrella. Think a board missed an obvious answer? Send it through our corrections and we will review it.
Practise the habits
Unlimited mode is the quickest way to train. Each reveal shows the full board, so you learn which instincts pay. Watch your tiers on the scoring scale: if you keep landing on Kite and Treetop, your answers are reasonable but too specific. If you have played Krillion, notice that every tip here is its reverse; Krillion vs Noillirk explains why.
Noillirk tips FAQ
Should I answer with one word or a phrase?
One word when you can. Boards list answers the way most people say them, which is usually the shortest form: "phone", not "mobile phone".
Are brand names accepted?
Some are, as aliases, but the board answer is almost always the generic word. "Tissue" is safer than a brand.
What if two answers feel equally common?
Pick the one a child would say. The simpler, more concrete answer wins far more often than the abstract one.
